Vic Achievement Awards

Introduction
Towards the end of 2006 the HIMAA Victorian Branch Executive developed and implemented a new initiative to showcase the achievement of our members and to encourage others to join our association.  The new initiative was the HIM Achievement Awards.

The awards were developed to celebrate the achievements of our HIMAA members.  We wanted to acknowledge, encourage, reward and more importantly promote the positive achievements of the Victorian members of the Health Information Management Association of Australia.

The Awards
There are four award categories:-

1.    Individual Category

The Individual Category recognises the high achievers of our profession, acknowledging excellence in a chosen field or  area of expertise.

2.    Rural Initiative Category

The Rural Initiative Category recognises our rural members who have contributed significantly to the profession throughout activities in rural areas.

3.    Team Category

The Team Category Award recognises the achievements and contributions of health information professionals working together on new or existing activities, projects or initiatives.

4.    Contribution to HIMAA (Vic Branch) Category

The HIMAA (Victorian Branch) specifically wants to acknowledge and thank the many volunteers who support our association.  This Award recognises our unsung heroes.  They are the back bone of our association and we want to reward and celebrate their contributions.  Through this award we want to encourage other members to join in what can be one of the most rewarding professional experiences you will encounter.
